I’m attending a wedding shower that has an unusual theme…?

Each guest was given a time of day in the shower invitation (mine was 8AM) and we’re supposed to buy a gift based on what the bride can use during that time! So what are some unique gift ideas besides a robe, bath sets, coffee maker and other obvious things? Thanks sooooo much!
Great suggestions!!!! Thanks, all! You’ve definitely helped out a ton!
an egg timer, teas and coffee (fancy flavors), waffle iron/maker. Mugs, casual dishes.
Hi. Well that is the breakfast time…so anything really!
Coffee maker with mugs, toaster, waffle maker, dishes, bowls, canisters….really, anything for the kitchen!
Satin sheets (I wish I could still be in bed at 8am!), a fancy alarm clock, something for her shower or bathroom, towels, a waffle iron or other breakfast necessitties
Something to take to work? A day timer calendar? By 8 am aren’t you at work or on your way to work? What does she do? Is she lucky enough not to have to work? Will she go exercise in the morning?
tea, coffee, creamers, bright cheery wake you up smelling candles, loaf of gourmet bread or a kit to make your own quick breads, jams and spreads, knife spreader set
I have one of those magic bullets that they advertise on tv (I think I got mine at Kohls). Anyway, we use it every morning to make smoothies. Maybe get that along with a recipe book for smoothies. It may be more than you want to spend…

One of my shower’s was time of day, I think its pretty clever. So 8 a.m. is really more on the way to work than bathrobe time.
gift certificates to their favorite coffee shop
fruit of the month club so they can have fresh fruit for breakfast
a briefcase to grab on her way to work
something for the car if she drives to work or maybe bus tokens if she does public transit
depending on the bride, a sleepmask might still be appropriate. a nice set of tea and coffee blends, etc. I also think a nice cereal bowl would be appreciated by most women. if you’re artistic at all, you can even find a “paint your own ceramics” place where you can personalize it for her.
What a spendid idea for a shower game. What can she use at 8AM? I would ;probably consider something like a “Do Not Disturb” sign for the hotel room, which could be later used on their door. Or, how about some perfumey douche. Other suggestions that are just marvelous are a nice gift certifcate for breakfast for two at the local diner, or perhaps some beautiful pottery coffee mugs, handcrafted by a local artisan. good luck, my dear, think outside the box. Many a couple enjoy hours of love making early morning on the weekend, as most men awaken with what we call a “morning wood.” You can perhaps find some gifts that might help in that area – candy underwear anyone?
that theme really isn’t uncommon – it’s a ‘Round the Clock wedding shower. you have the right idea with robes and breakfast or kitchen things. you could also think of more unusual gifts – maybe think of something they might use at 8 am on the weekend. do they sleep in? buy sheets or something like that. use your imagination, but don’t stray too far from your time frame so that there isn’t overlap in gifts.
Most people don’t have the luxury of staying in bed till 8am. So I would give her something that would be useful either at work or on the way to work.
That is a cool idea. I wish I would have thought of that for one of the many I have hosted. I have to be at work at 7:30 so she probably will be on the way or already there, what about a nice pen set for her desk, a travel coffee mug (if she drinks coffee), a gift certificate for breakfast foods, a subscription to the local newspaper, a CD of her favorite songs to listen to on the way to work……All the other ideas that people have already mentioned too. You could play it so many ways, her at home, on the way to work or already at work. Good Luck!
Well! I am a Morning type and I think I may have a couple ideas in this 10 gallon hat! At 8am I normally am done feeding the chickens and by 8;30 I have collected the eggs. Now as a funny gag you could bring “A Chicken” or the more down to earth city type would bring Deviled- Eggs. MMM lets see being on the farm 8 am is is my tabbaco time too! I know buy a real pretty Spit Toon. sit it up in the center of the kitchen floor step about 10 feet from it and see who can hit it! Those are both pretty darn good fun 8 am stuff too keep anyone busy!
Here is a great site with wonderful muffins, breads and jams.
It’s easy to order one.
I hope that helps.
Even though she’ll likely be on her way to work, or already there, this is a wedding shower and not a birthday party so you should focus on gifts for the home that both she and her husband can enjoy. That’s what bridal showers are about, anyway, is helping the couple to acquire items for their new home and new life together. I think that something for her desk or gift certificates for coffee are more of an individual gift than gifts you give to a soon-to-be-married couple. Stick with the ideas like a nice coffeemaker with mugs, dishes that include cereal bowls, waffle maker, maybe his-and-her satin pajamas (or something else rather fancy like that), kitchen utensils that can be used in the morning (like a pancake turner, an omelette flipper, an egg whisk), sheets, a towel warmer for the bathroom on cold mornings, etc. Does the couple have a registry? If so, you could probably pull a few 8 a.m. ideas off of there and still be sure that you’re getting them something they want/need. Good luck!
Why is everyone assuming that this is for a week work-day? The 24 hour clock could be for a weekend!! In that case, 8 AM is a perfect time for a gift basket of a Bodum coffee pot, two pretty mugs, some high quality Italian coffee, two china plates, napkins all wrapped up on a bed tray. (The kind from Linens and Things or Ikea for about $20.) Add a note for them to enjoy Breakfast in Bed.
How about an aromatherapy type of spritz for the face or body in a “wake up” scent. I have some and I love it! Or under eye cream for puffiness ha ha! Individual packets of daily vitamins? You could put a whole basket of stuff together. How about a year subscription to the “muffin of the month club” they have cookie of the month too or coffee. Maybe one of those massaging chair covers for the car for the drive to work. OOH! How about some kind of closet organizer to make her getting ready routine easier. If she’s a little Earthy, you could always get her a type of Buddhist prayer alter with a Buddha statue and some incense and such and a meditation book. Lots of people like to start their morning with a ritual. Good luck!
Does the bride like tea? If so, get her a selection of loose-leaf tea, a tea ball, a couple of tea cups (or mugs) and perhaps a tea kettle. (You said other than coffee maker – but a tea kettle can be used to make coffee too).
I think that’s a pretty cool idea for a shower!
Why don’t you do one of the obvious things that she registered for and then make it a gift basket. Add little items in with it. Like for coffee maker you could add a bean grinder, gourmet coffee, mugs, creamer. I think it’s best to stick with things she wants. You could also do some salon shampoo, face cleanser, soap, back scrubber, hair product, etc. You can always take the normal things and make them extraordinary.
